Vancouver has one of the deepest wellness cultures in North America — yoga studios on every block, meditation apps on every phone, MBSR programs filling up months in advance. But every one of those traditions, in some form, traces its roots back to the same source: the Buddha's discourses on mindfulness.
Mindfulness in Buddha's Way goes there directly. Every Tuesday at 5:30 PM Pacific, Buddhist monks guide participants through the Mahā Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta — the Great Discourse on Establishing Mindfulness — the very text that inspired the modern mindfulness movement. Free, online, and open to everyone.

The Lower Mainland is home to fifteen or more Buddhist meditation centres — Zen, Shambhala, Insight, Tibetan, and Theravada traditions all have a presence here. Vancouver's practitioners are sophisticated and curious. Many have spent years in wellness programmes and are ready to go deeper.
Mindfulness in Buddha's Way is not a stress-reduction technique or a productivity hack. It is a careful, reverent study of the Buddha's exact words — how he described the body, how he described the mind, and what he said about the path that leads to genuine peace. The same peace that drew many Vancouver residents to meditation in the first place.
The Tuesday session starts at 5:30 PM Pacific — early enough to join before dinner, late enough to settle after the day. No registration, no cost. Just a Zoom link and an open mind.
