Toronto is home to one of the most vibrant and diverse Buddhist communities in North America — dozens of centres, teachers, and traditions, all finding a home in Canada's largest city. Mindfulness in Buddha's Way connects Toronto practitioners directly to the oldest layer of those teachings.
Together we study the Mahā Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta — the Buddha's own discourse on establishing mindfulness — passage by passage, live on Zoom. The session is free, runs every Tuesday at 8:30 PM Eastern, and requires no prior experience. Just show up.

The city's wellness industry has embraced mindfulness enthusiastically — MBSR programs, apps, corporate workshops, and retreat weekends. All of these draw, in some form, on the same source: the Pāli suttas, the earliest recorded teachings of the Buddha. This program goes there directly.
For Toronto's large and diverse Buddhist community — whether you come from a South Asian background where these teachings feel familiar, or you arrived at meditation through yoga or a stress-reduction course — Mindfulness in Buddha's Way offers a chance to read the original texts in plain English, with monks who have dedicated their lives to understanding them.
The 8:30 PM Tuesday session fits naturally into a Toronto evening. Join from your apartment in the Annex, your home in Scarborough, or your condo in Etobicoke. The only thing you need to bring is an open mind.
