The city that never sleeps
still needs somewhere to come to rest.
New York City is one of the most energised — and most exhausting — places on earth. It is also home to some of the most serious meditation practitioners in the world: people who have read widely, sat long retreats, and learned quickly that wellness apps do not go deep enough. Mindfulness in Buddha's Way is for them.
Every Tuesday at 8:30 PM Eastern, Buddhist monks open the Mahā Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta — the Buddha's original, unabridged discourse on establishing mindfulness — and study it passage by passage. No adaption, no technique-layer. The source text itself, in plain English, live on Zoom. Free, always.

New York has every kind of meditation. This is the first kind.
The city has Zen centres in the West Village, Insight groups in Park Slope, Tibetan centres in Midtown, and corporate mindfulness programs on every floor of every tower. All of them, in some form, draw on the same ancient well: the Pāli Canon — the earliest recorded teachings of the Buddha.
Mindfulness in Buddha's Way goes to that well directly. No intermediary tradition, no modern repackaging. We read the Mahā Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta — the great discourse on the four foundations of mindfulness — as the Buddha delivered it: systematically, precisely, and with the clear intention that those who practise it can be free.
Tuesday evenings at 8:30 PM Eastern are a natural pause point in the New York week. Whether you are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or across the river — open the Zoom link at 8:30 and trade the noise for ninety minutes of something older than the city by two and a half thousand years.
Study, reflect, practise.
