Monastery life & programs
Support the monks, utilities, meditation hall, and weekly programs. One-time or monthly.
DonateAll our services — weekly meditation, Dhamma talks, retreats, and personal guidance with the monks — are offered free of charge. This is made possible entirely through the generosity of those who value the Buddha’s teachings.
Offerings of any size are received with gratitude, in the spirit of dāna — the practice of open-hearted giving that has carried the Dhamma across twenty-six centuries.
From the Buddha’s time to today, monastics have lived entirely on what lay supporters freely offer. Nothing is billed, nothing is owed. What you give is a reflection of what the Dhamma has meant in your life.
Your generosity keeps the doors open: it pays for the building, the utilities, the meals offered to the monks, and every program you see on this site. It also lets us say “yes” when someone arrives in need of guidance, regardless of their means.
Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery Winnipeg is a registered Canadian charity. Tax receipts are issued at the end of the calendar year for donations exceeding $20 when accompanied by the donor’s name and address. For e-Transfer or cheque donations, please include your full name and mailing address so we can send your receipt.
If you’d like guidance on giving, have a specific intention for your donation, or prefer to speak with someone before contributing, please reach out. No amount is too small and no question is a bother.
