Monday
Dhamma Class.
A weekly evening class for those who want to go further into the Buddha’s teaching.
Over 12 weeks we take up Dependent Origination (paṭiccasamuppāda) — the Buddha’s account of how suffering arises, and how it comes to an end — working through it slowly, week by week, with time for discussion and questions. Beginning September 14.
This is not a beginner’s class. Everyone is welcome to join, but if you are new to Buddhism or to meditation, the best place to start is Meditate With A Monk on Sunday afternoons or our drop-in Friday Dhamma Talk.

New to Buddhism? Start here.
Dependent origination is among the most demanding of the Buddha’s teachings, and the class assumes some existing knowledge and understanding of Buddhist concepts.
If you are new to Buddhism, begin with our drop-in Friday Dhamma Talk or Meditate With A Monk on Sunday afternoons. Everyone is welcome — whatever your beliefs or religious background.
First time at the monastery? Read what to expect before you visit.
Dependent origination, twelve links.
We work through the twelve links by which the Buddha described the arising of suffering — what each one means, how they condition one another, and where the chain can be broken.
