The Great Stupa.
A new stupa, enshrining sacred relics of the Buddha, is being built at the monastery. For twenty-six centuries, stupas have served as quiet places of remembrance — a reminder, in stone, that an awakened being once walked this earth.
What the Buddha said.
In his final discourse, the Buddha spoke of stupas as places of reverence, of reflection, and of lasting spiritual benefit for those who approach them with a peaceful mind.
A stupa should be built at an intersection for the Tathāgata, the Supreme Buddha.
If someone offers perfumes and fragrant powder to that stupa, they will gain happiness for a long time.
Stupas inspire confidence in the mind, leading to rebirth in a good destination.
Rising, stone by stone.
Work on the stupa has passed several meaningful milestones — ground preparation, the enshrinement of the relics, the unveiling of the pinnacle. Each phase has been marked by ceremony and by the quiet participation of community members.
Construction continues. We invite anyone who wishes to be part of this offering — through labour, through contribution, or simply through presence at the ceremonies ahead — to join us.
How to participate.
We warmly invite everyone to come and join us — whether to volunteer on-site, to contribute to the costs of construction, or to visit and offer flowers and incense once the stupa is complete.
