What They Learn

Stories, practice, values.

Each class weaves together a little meditation, a story from the tradition, and a short discussion of something the children can carry back into the week.

  • The life of the Buddha
  • Simple meditation and mindfulness
  • Basic Buddhist teachings
  • Respect for parents and elders
  • Friendship and kindness
  • Merit, karma, and the shape of a good heart
Why It Matters

A steady ground to grow on.

Children absorb far more than words. A weekly hour and a half in a quiet, friendly space — sitting still for a few minutes, hearing the Buddha’s stories, talking honestly about kindness — shapes something in them that lasts.

The monks teach in plain language, matched to the age of the child. Older youth are given more to chew on. Younger children are met with gentleness and play.

Practicalities

A gentle first Sunday.
