A guide to meditation.

Trying to practise on your own and feeling stuck or discouraged? We can help. The techniques we teach come directly from the ancient Buddhist scriptures of the Theravāda tradition — simple, time-tested, and accessible to anyone.

Why We Meditate

The aim is lasting happiness.

The ultimate goal of Buddhist meditation is happiness — not the ordinary kind that comes from material things, but a lasting happiness that gradually eliminates suffering.

In the short term, meditation brings relaxation and calm to a restless mind. Over time, as the mind becomes more concentrated and clear, we begin to see things as they really are — and that seeing is what frees us.

What We Teach

Two main practices.

01

Loving-kindness

Mettā Bhāvanā

We train our mind to hold thoughts for the welfare of all living beings — near and far, friendly and unfriendly, large and small, visible and invisible. Over time this practice softens anger and resentment and brings a quiet, steady calm to the mind.

02

Breath meditation

Ānāpānasati

By settling our attention on the natural breath, we bring calm and peace to the mind. With that concentration gathered, we can begin to see the true nature of the world more clearly — and it is that clear seeing that leads to liberation.
