Spiritual Support

Pastoral care.

A monk’s presence can be a quiet, steadying thing in difficult moments. Our pastoral care is offered to anyone who asks — Buddhist or not, member or newcomer — and comes without cost or obligation.

What’s Offered

Six forms of support.

Hospital & home visits

Monks are available to visit patients in hospital or at home, offering spiritual encouragement in difficult times.

House blessings

For new homes, major life transitions, or simply the wish for a peaceful beginning in a space.

Counselling & blessings

Monks don’t perform wedding ceremonies, but they are glad to offer counsel and blessings to couples.

Guidance for parents

Support for expectant parents and families raising children within the Buddha’s teachings.

Spiritual counselling

Guidance for applying the Dhamma to what you’re actually facing in daily life.

Meditation advice

Informal consultation with a monk — usually arranged before or after a scheduled program.

Who It’s For

Anyone who asks.

You don’t need to be a Buddhist, or a regular at the monastery, to ask for pastoral care. The monks serve whoever is in front of them.

There’s no fee. The monastery is sustained by the generosity of its supporters, not by charging for the monks’ time. If you’d like to make an offering after the fact, that is always welcome — and never expected.

How to Request

Call, write, or drop in.

For urgent hospital or end-of-life requests, a phone call is usually quickest. For other matters, email works well too.
